Cutching was an extremely prolific silversmith. It is interesting to note that his mark changed several times over his history. The mark of CUT was used from 1840-1870 while CU (with the C and the U conjoined) was a form used during his earlier periods. CU/k was also a mark that Cutshing was known to have used. Items by this maker ranged from purely Georgian in style and decoration to Chinese in style and decoration.
